Kris Kringle Prepares Final Sleigh Ride
Muggle Relations: The Generation of the Vampire?
"I have thought about retiring for the past seventy years." Claus stated, shocking an unexpected press team at Jolly Center. "It is with great sadness that I announce my retirement as Santa Claus, effective December 26th."
Kris Kringle, who most know has been blessed with exceptionally long-life due to (as he claims), a brilliant, and daily dose of Elixir of Life has been delivering toys to children since he first started the tradition back in 1754, a streak he says continued all the way to this year when he decided to call it a career.
The biggest question from these developments may have been if the tradition would continue, and if it did, who would become the second Santa Claus in history. Luckily, the question didn't linger for long as Kris addressed these concerns first-hand.
"There is no need to worry. I wouldn't be retiring if the job died with me. This is something I have been doing for over 250 years. My bones may ache, my hair may be an unnatural bright shade of white, but the kids mean the world to me, and I'd be damned if I let my age stand in the way of their happiness. It's just fortunate for me, that I found someone eager for the job! My son, Reginald Kringle."
Reginald Kringle, 142 years younger than his father has been primed for the role over the years learning under the older gentleman. His Santa Claus career began shortly after his birth in 1837 when he first began working in his dad's famous workshop aside the hard-working house elves.
"I'm very excited!" spoke Reginald at the press conference earlier today. "I never thought I would have the chance. I never thought my father would retire, not with how much he loved the job. I'm gonna have to work on my Ho-Ho-Ho' now, aren't I?"
Only a week remains until Kris Kringle takes his final sleigh ride around the world. This year, to be accompanied by his son. This retirement marks the end of an era. But, an exciting new era is sure to come as the famous Santa Claus stays in the family.
